.

If I’ve been in an auto accident, do I need a chiropractor?

An auto accident is a violent collision. Accidents as slow as 5 mph can cause serious issues to the spine including whiplash and other misalignments. Musculoskeletal problems can take a long time to diagnose. The pain and dysfunction might not even come for a while after the injury. Our specialists will diagnose your musculoskeletal injuries so you can get the treatment you need.

What can I expect during my treatment?

During your first visit, we will conduct a full examination and interview with you and, based on our observation, create a treatment program that is uniquely tailored to your needs. During your treatment, a chiropractor directly treats the injured muscles and joints with massage and chiropractic adjustment. We will tailor your treatment to your pain and needs.

What if I have a concussion?

If you have a sensitivity to bright light, headaches that start out of nowhere, disorientation, or sudden mood swings, you may have gotten a concussion from your auto accident. Concussions happen when the brain sloshes around inside of the skull after a sudden stop, and because of this are also called traumatic brain injuries. As recently as the 1990s, concussion victims were advised to “walk it off” but now we know that concussions can cause major, lasting damage.

Will chiropractic care hurt?

Chiropractors gently manipulate the muscles affected by an injury. Our patients typically leave the office after a session feeling better than they entered. If you feel pain at any point in your treatment, inform your practitioner. Like any form of treatment, pain is an indication that something needs to be changed.
