Activator Method

What is the Activator Method?

A type of manual manipulation that is used by chiropractors is called the activator method. This treatment is known to help with a variety of different neck and back pain issues. .

How it Works

During this treatment, an activator adjusting instrument is used. The instrument enables chiropractors to give the patient low force-impulses to targeted areas. It releases rapid pulses that are so fast that the unlikely to experience any tension in response. The force that is applied during the activator method treatment is localized, so that no joints will be placed in any twisting or bending positions. Our chiropractor will use this to check for signs and symptoms to spot the trouble areas.

Risks

The activator method is extremely safe when it is performed by a chiropractor or other qualified health professional. It is important to note that this treatment may not always help with the decrease of neck or back pain. The activator method is one of the most researched chiropractic techniques, but more information still needs to be processed. Make sure you discuss all of the benefits and potential risks with our chiropractor prior to this treatment.

Treatment Plan

It’s recommended that treatment be given 1 to 2 times each week. These treatments usually go on for approximately 4 to 6 weeks. However, everyone’s situation is unique, and it depends on the patient’s case. Once a patient is no longer experiencing any more symptoms and signs have visibly resolved, the treatments can come to an end. If after 3 to 4 treatments the patient feels no relief, the chiropractor will stop treatment to give the patient a re-evaluation of their condition and symptoms.
